Over-seriousness, and making it hard and complicated is a big, big stumbling block on the spiritual path. STOP Asking For What You Want!
OK, now I have your attention, but I'm about as serious as I ever get about stopping the incessant asking. Just today a relative told me she prays every day for her granddaughter to stop doing what she doesn't want her to do, and to start doing what she thinks she should do. She said she "hopes God answers her prayers." I had just called her to open some doors to how we might do Christmas in a way that fostered good feelings all around, so I treaded lightly on this subject. She obviously wanted agreement, not advice.
How Making Things Fun Dramatically Changes Reality

I was getting a PhD in the "power of fun" in my singing lessons with Guy Monroe (www.guymonroe.com, he evens teaches by phone all over the world). Fun kept me going when the going was slow. Piano lessons as a child were not fun. It was all about what was wrong, and boring drills, and the music the teacher assigned didn't turn me on. It wasn't fun. I pick my own songs with Guy, with suggestions from him.
California Dreaming
So much happened in one week on my spontaneous trip to Southern California:
Heard Deva Premal and Miten in L.A. Wow! My fourth time.
Got to hear L.A. Divine Openings Giver Jenenne Macklin speak at the famous Agape Church, where Rev. Michael Beckwith of The Secret presides. I sang backup with Tamara Taylor at that service. (YESSSS!)
Gave a standing room only Divine Openings three hour course in Del Mar.

Profound Healings Recently
I had the privilege of being a catalyst in the healing a young man before I left California. His feet had been so painful due to extra bones in his feet that he was in a wheelchair. I held his hand and looked at his closed eyes for about ten minutes. He had many physical indicators that the healing was being fully received and allowed. His eyelids, shoulders, hands, and body twitched intermittently, and his mouth moved continuously. Later that day he said it felt as if all his emotions had been reset, and he felt love and gratitude for the first time.
